Participating on one (or more) of our active committees is one of the top benefits of NASSCO membership.  Make a real difference in our industry by getting involved!

This group monitors local, state and federal legislation, grant programs and requirements that affect the business opportunities of NASSCO members. It also identifies ways in which NASSCO can collaborate with other organizations.

2023-2024 Goals:

  1. Advance NASSCO’s Federal Policy Recommendations through meetings and other communications with Congressional leaders and federal agencies
  2. Increase Sewer System Heroes Campaign engagement on NASSCO.org
  3. Provide one blog/article by members each quarter to be published in the NASSCO Pipeline and advertised through social media

NASSCO’s Grouting Committee, also known as ICGC, educates sewer engineers and owners about this unique and highly versatile process and promotes chemical grouting as a safe, economical and effective means to reduce groundwater infiltration into sewer collection systems.

2023-2024 Goals:

  1. Present 2-part test cell webinar
  2. Hire curriculum development expert to design course and related materials for self-paced, online ITCP Grouting Course
  3. Develop Specification for Manhole Grouting
  4. Review/update Grouting Specifications (2)

The purpose of this committee is to develop and or update safety manuals and other NASSCO documents to provide NASSCO members with the latest in health and safety requirements as required by local state and federal regulatory agencies.

2023-2024 Goals:

  1. Develop safety video on the topic of styrene monitoring equipment
  2. Update Vital Safety Topics on NASSCO.org
  3. Develop safety video on the topic of confined space entry as it pertains to sanitary sewer manholes
  4. Provide content for industry-wide podcasts
  5. Manage third-party study on styrene levels in CIPP cure water as it relates to any impact to municipal secondary treatment systems

Members of this committee aid NASSCO in the evolution of the condition assessment of sewer infrastructure. They also recommend technical programs that educate and encourage participation by owners, engineers and operators resulting in nationally endorsed standards.

  1. Finalize content for “PACP for Asset Management – Evaluating Condition Grades” Course
  2. Finalize content for “PACP for Asset Management – Assessing Risk” Course
  3. Launch PACP Version 8

The International Business Committee works with organizations such as CERIU and LAMSTT to train PACP™ in Quebec and South/Central America, respectively. The Committee also builds general awareness of NASSCO around the world.

2023-2024 Goals:

  1. Translate PACP Version 8 into Spanish and Portuguese
  2. Conduct two technical webinars in Spanish
  3. Deliver first PACP class in Portuguese
  4. Translate ITCP-CIPP Manual into Spanish
  5. Deliver first ITCP-CIPP certification course in Spanish
  6. Continue translations of all NASSCO resources, when asked by NASSCO Staff

This group develops industry standards and specifications along with the overview of all rehabilitation processes that promote the use of technologies for lateral rehabilitation with high levels of quality assurance/quality control.

2023-2024 Goals:

  1. Update Lateral and Building Pipe Specification Guideline
  2. Complete Lateral MOP
  3. Launch NASSCO’s Building Sewer and Drain Inspection (BSDI) Program

A dedicated team which provides an open and vulnerable forum that offers NASSCO members the opportunity to share ideas, help find solutions, and elevate the leadership culture in the underground infrastructure industry.

2023-2024 Goals:

  1. Participate in ongoing discussions amongst NASSCO members on the challenges and opportunities in managing people.  May include guest speakers, recommended reading, and other tools to develop strong leadership skills.

This committee's purpose is to promote safety and knowledge by education of processes, equipment and tools for industry-specific tasks.

 2023-2024 Goals:

  1. Develop Siphon Cleaning and Assessment Guidelines
  2. Update 2014 NASSCO Sewer Cleaning Specification
  3. Update 2014 NASSCO CCTV Specification
  4. Develop Content for Bypass Pump Online Training

This committee's purpose is to promote the use of all Pipe Rehab technologies for industry applications, which includes reviewing general matters concerning the industry including legislative, technical and quality issues, providing support for and work with the NASSCO staff and Board to promote programs that educate the public on pipe rehab issues and benefits, and develop and support programs.

2023-2024 Goals:

  1. Deliver a white paper on features and benefits of varying pipeline rehab technologies
  2. Develop an educational video on Spray Applied Pipe Liner (SAPL)
  3. Complete CIPP spec with updated section on UV Cure

This committee is responsible for researching current tools and techniques of pressure pipe assessment and rehabilitation, with a goal to establish standards to assess and rehabilitate force mains and water lines.

    1. Present Pressure Pipe Assessment Webinar
    1. Develop Pressure Pipe Rehabilitation video
    2. Develop Pressure Pipe Assessment video
    3. Produce a webinar on pressure pipe cleaning using a pigging process

Manholes, catch basins, wet wells and other sewer structures require significant rehabilitation to keep the entire system operating at maximum capacity.

2023-2024 Goals:

  1. Complete update of the 2013 Manhole Rehabilitation Specifications Guideline Document
  2. Continue updates to ITCP Manhole Rehabilitation Document
  3. Develop guidance document on surface prep for brick sewer structure rehabilitation

This committee meets and works with all software vendors to establish and implement uniform programs that incorporate PACP®/MACP®/LACP®. This group also reviews revisions from time to time and makes adjustments and recommends amendments, as necessary.

 2023-2024 Goals:

  1. Rollout PACP Version 8 data dictionary and documentation
  2. Complete PACP certification tool
  3. Develop PACP V6 to V7 and V7 to V8 mapping to assist those transitioning from one version to the next
