Sheila Joy

I entered the trenchless industry in 1999 when CIPP was taking hold in the U.S. Through the years I’ve worked for non-profits, contractors and ran my own small business, all providing the tools to help me in my current role. In 2007 Irv Gemora hired me to help establish the NASSCO brand, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Heather Myers

I got involved with NASSCO during my last year of college. Since then, I have performed almost every role in the association – from communications and membership to accounting and events and now, Program Director. NASSCO is not only my career, but also family.

Laurie Perkins, PE

I graduated from Purdue University in 1995 and began my career underground, entering manholes and installing flow meters in small and large diameter pipes. For nearly 30 years I worked as a professional engineering consultant focused on the assessment, design, and rehabilitation of sewer systems. My journey with NASSCO has been interwoven throughout my career, becoming a PACP user in 2008, a NASSCO-certified Trainer in 2012, serving as a Board member from 2014 to 2024, and now part of the NASSCO team leading growth of our training programs.

Steve Dye

Steve Dye is President of Nexus Government Relations, LLC, and serves as government relations consultant to NASSCO with a focus on advancing underground sewer and stormwater infrastructure funding and policies before Congress, federal agencies, state governments, and stakeholder entities. He also administers NASSCO’s Sewer System Heroes grassroots advocacy program.

Rob LeForte

Rob is President of First Lake Solutions. He serves as the Canadian government relations advisor to NASSCO. Rob has 17 years of government relations experience at the federal, provincial and municipal levels. He focuses on building relationships with decision makers and stakeholders who can advance NASSCO’s advocacy priorities in infrastructure, sewer and stormwater, and asset management.

My career in Health, Safety and Environment began in the resin and chemical manufacturing sector. After spending 15 years in this market, I looked for a change and found the trenchless industry in 2003. Over the years, I have worked as a Board-Certified Safety Professional with a commitment to helping companies improve worker safety. I joined the NASSCO team in 2023 and look forward to helping our member companies grow while improving their safety and environmental performance. Keeping in mind, that there is nothing more important than to send our workers home safely while protecting our environment each and every day.

Lisa Avalos

As part of a military connected family, I have moved a lot! NASSCO welcomed me into their “family” as a part-time employee in 2017 and has seen me through two additional moves; serving as a contract employee and now part of the full-time team. With 30 years of managing people and projects, I am proud to serve our Members, Trainers and Students.

Sandy Lombardo

With over 25 years of experience in financial leadership, I have held various positions in the nonprofit sector my entire career. Particularly in Trade Associations for Manufacturing Technology and Concrete Industries. My desire to work with Trade Associations brought me to NASSCO. I bring a varied background in finance and accounting which includes everything from A to Z. I value honesty and trustworthiness, which is crucial in building strong relationships. My focus is ensuring lasting financial stability and supporting NASSCOS’ guiding principles.

Ashwin Ooi

For over a decade, I have specialized in implementing innovative technology solutions for nonprofit organizations across diverse sectors, including affordable housing and financial counseling. Joining NASSCO has allowed me to explore an exciting new industry while applying my passion for information technology to drive meaningful change for our clients. My focus is on continuously enhancing our technology systems to create more efficient processes and improve the lives of everyone we serve.

Heidi OLeska

Heidi has developed brands and marketing strategies since 1994 for clients from the financial and technology industries to professional services and non-profit organizations. Her belief that every brand must stand out and marketing efforts must reach a very targeted audience in a very creative way, over and over is the basis of her success. She is passionate about helping her clients discover their “why” and bear fruit in all their marketing endeavors. Heidi has an MBA and BS in Marketing and lives in Lakewood Ranch, Florida with her husband Joey and pup Caleb.

My journey with NASSCO started when some friends told me about a great job opportunity – a Customer Care Associate with NASSCO. I knew I would be a great fit for the position, so I applied, and two interviews later I was offered the position. Loving my new chapter in life and the family at NASSCO is a great fit for me and my family.
